What are classes like?
These are Pilates-paced strength training classes designed to educate you about your birthing options, prepare your body for the demands of labor, and build the strength necessary to transition into parenthood smoothly. The classes will build on each other as the series progresses.
Class structure usually looks like:-a thorough warm-up and group check-in-breath and abdominal work (no, we aren't doing crunches!)-a floor series that addresses that week's topic-a four-exercise circuit that we work through three times-labor prep
Class sizes are limited to allow for personalized feedback.Instruction is always live, providing some accountability for you to give yourself the full 45 minutes of movement.Class recordings are uploaded to the group Google Classroom and available for 30 days.Google Classroom gives us an opportunity to connect outside of class and is where I share information and research I talk about in class.
What do I need to take class?
Equipment: We will use the following items in class:-Minibands-Theraband Set-Band Anchor-Weights (8lbs are a great place to start!)-Massage Ball-Birth BallIf you already own similar items use what you've got!
Space: You need about the space of a yoga mat to take class. Ideally, you will also be able to set up your computer's camera in a way that allows me to see you in order to give you form feedback. We may go "off-mat" at times, so you may need to occasionally shove a chair or two out of the way!
